Many CWA 6450 members participated in the largest low wage worker rally and march in Kansas City's history on Tax Day. Full time workers deserve a livable wage in the richest country in the world. Every worker that organizes and forms a union strengthens our homes, communities, state and country.

The early voting initiative that Local 6450 worked to collect signatures for was not successful and will not appear on the November 2014 ballot. Instead the legislature in Jefferson City will have their own Sham Early Voting initiative on the ballot. We ask you to vote no on this Sham Early Voting initiative which is setup to only allow 6 weekdays of early voting but only if the legislature approves funds during each election. Please tell your friends and family the early voting initiative on the November 2014 ballot is NOT the initiative that signatures were gathered for and should not be supported.

The leadership training has brought a new issue to our CWA triangle in that we need to build up our membership.  It is CWA’s triangle to organize, build movements and represent.  Our local needs to organize, we must have power; to gain power we must continue to identify our self-interest and values as a local.
